ABOUT
Our goal is to give our clients financial guidance with the highest standards of care and integrity.
Being an independent firm means we are not bound to any specific financial institution or their products, and can instead recommend whatever is best for our clients’ specific needs.
INDEPENDENT:
Fee-only means we receive no commissions or incentives for recommending any specific investments to our clients. We receive the same compensation regardless of our recommendations. Clients know and see what they pay us for our services.
FEE-ONLY:
Just a fancy way of saying we must always act in the best interest of our clients. This may seem obvious, but the vast majority of “financial advisors” are not held to this standard. This is the “golden-rule” of financial advising.
FIDUCIARY:
CLAYTON PHILLIPS CFP®
OWNER, FINANCIAL PLANNER
I became a financial advisor because I saw early on how much clarity and contentment good financial guidance can bring. While studying Finance at Washington State University, I interned with an advisor who not only managed investments with wisdom but also took time each week to mentor students. That balance of purpose and practicality left a deep impression on me.
Over the years, it has become apparent that many advisors were more focused on gathering assets than truly helping clients live with financial freedom and intentionality. I set out to offer something different — financial guidance that aligns with your values, timelines, and life goals. I believe money is a tool that should serve your family, your community, and your calling — not just accumulate without direction. My goal is to help you manage your resources with wisdom, generosity, and peace of mind.
A Bit More About Me Personally
Beaverton has been home for over 15 years, and I’m grateful to live near extended family and be part of a close-knit community. I’m a husband and dad to four amazing children. Evenings often mean playing in the yard, reading bedtime stories, or good conversation over coffee. I’m passionate about mentoring, serving others, and being involved at my local church. I believe the way we use our time, talents, and resources can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I’m also committed to continually growing, both personally and professionally, through ongoing certifications, reading, and participating in various study groups.
Guiding Principles I Use in Every Client Relationship:
FINANCIAL PLANNING
Good Counsel: “Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed." Proverbs 15:22
Diligence: "The Plans of the Diligent lead surely to abundance, but those who are hasty come only to poverty." Proverbs 21:5
Preparation: "Set your house in order for you shall die." Isaiah 38:1
INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT
Diversification: "Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return. Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land." Ecclesiastes 11:1-2
Prudent: "The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it." Proverbs 27:12
Patience: "Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it." Proverbs 13:11
GIFT PLANNING
Generosity That Multiplies: "A generous man will prosper, he who refreshes others, will himself be refreshed." Proverbs 11:25
True Treasure: "They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life." 1 Timothy 6:18-19
Living Legacy: "One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty." Proverbs 11:24
